Rescue Service

The Rescue Service works to ensure that Norrtälje is a safe and secure municipality for all residents, even under difficult conditions. We maintain readiness around the clock at our five fire stations in Blidö, Norrtälje, Hallstavik, Rimbo, and Älmsta.

Our mission is complex, and we operate both preventively and in damage control. The preventive mission includes providing information, advice, and instructions to residents, as well as training students and employees in the municipality. The Rescue Service is responsible for supervision matters regarding fire protection and permits and supervision matters regarding the handling of flammable and explosive materials. We conduct fire protection inspections in-house and are responsible for the chimney sweeping carried out by contracted entrepreneurs.

The damage control operations include rescue efforts in the event of fires, accidents, releases of hazardous substances, and other incidents. We collaborate with 12 other rescue service organizations in the Eastern Svealand Rescue Region.

The Position:

We are now looking for a new group responsible Team Leader for full-time work in Norrtälje.

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for one of our four operational shift teams. You lead and distribute the work among the team members. You plan and prioritize the staff's work both for the day and over time. You follow up on the tasks of the firefighters to ensure that training, exercises, project work, and other tasks are carried out effectively. You find it easy to lead others and strive for us to operate in an efficient, professional, and forward-looking manner. You will also be involved in schedule management.

In addition to the responsibility for the staff in your group, you are an important part of the collaboration with the other shift teams and other parts of the organization. The position requires strong communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a flexible approach. You will play a central role in various meeting forums and may also be asked to participate in or lead various projects.

You will act operationally in the roles that the team leader function can be assigned.

Formal Requirements:

• Driving license category C
• Rescue Leader A, LK1B or equivalent
• Good ability to handle personal computers
• Good ability to read and understand written procedures and convey them in an understandable way
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ship's Officer Class VIII
• LK2 or equivalent
• Experience in operational command functions
• Leadership experience
